THIS IS MOM'S INTERVIEW FROM 2015. NONE OF THE LINKS MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO WORK ANYMORE. THIS WENT OUT ON A NATIONAL PODCAST. SHE WAS ALSO INTERVIEWED ON NBC NATIONAL NEWS ABOUT THE ABUSE AND STALKING YEARS PRIOR TO THIS VIDEO. SHE CAN'T USE THIS OPTION NOW TO FIX HER TEETH, BECAUSE IT WOULD PUT HER DISABILITY BENEFITS AT RISK

THIS IS FROM A LETTER MOM RECENTLY WROTE TO COMFORT DENTAL AND DR JOHN FRERICH

Dr. Rick A. Kushner is President, Founder, CEO and CFO of Comfort Dental.
Comfort Dental
2540 Kipling St.
Lakewood, CO 80215

Dr. Eric Boucher, Dentistry
Comfort Dental
6800 W Alameda Ave
Lakewood, CO 80226

Dr's Kushner and Boucher,
My first experience with Comfort Dental was YEARS ago at 2540 Kipling St

I had endured abuse and having been pushed from behind and impacting a wrought iron door with my head resulting in ALL my teeth being fractured

They ended up falling out in chunks, despite my telling them to just pull them out and give me dentures

Comfort Dental and Marshall Dental Excellence bring NO COMFORT

One begins to think dentists can't be trusted except the ones at University of Colorado School of Dental Medcine

They're the ones that once they saw me the surgeon immediately said, “Why the hell weren't these teeth pulled YEARS ago?” The teeth I'd been demanding Comfort Dental pull, but they refused

Having rotting teeth in one's body can lead to MANY health issues! Comfort Dental didn't care about that

For example gum disease, kidney disease, heart disease, endocarditis, blood poisoning, weakened immune system and tooth abscess

Toxins were being released into my body on a REGULAR BASIS and NOBODY at Comfort Dental cared. They just wanted to keep on working on my teeth for $$$$$

Why did I go back to them the 2nd time?

They were in my insurance carrier's 'Network' (UnitedHealthcare)

I will be writing to UnitedHealthcare to let them know of my experiences with Comfort Dental requesting they be removed from 'Network'

My recent experiences with Comfort Dental, AKA Dr Eric Boucher and his staff

Comfort Dental
November 25, 2019 – Appointment with them – my dentures were WHITE (THEY STILL ARE, INCLUDING THE GUM AREA)

From what we can ascertain, my caregiver put bleach in the glass I soak them in, because one day they were PERFECTLY fine and the next they weren't

7-24-21
My daughter had brought me in for an appointment

We were both under the impression that you were going to just talk to us about the potential cost of fixing my dentures, not actually go ahead and start the process.

The receptionist/lady that took us back to where people pay was all ready to start taking “Impressions for your (my) new dentures....send the bill to your insurance and see what they'll cover.”

We immediately stopped her, because I couldn't afford to fix them at this time. I don't have the funds to do that. I'm lucky to have $10 extra at the end of the month if I don't have medical appointments

I am LOW income, DISABLED and on SSI. My income is $1001.00 PER MONTH

We left immediately

Dr. Boucher called back a few days later and left a message apologizing, YET trying to convince me to come back so we could discuss the costs to replace my dentures, NOT THE IMPLANTS. They're PERFECTLY FINE!

April 24, 2024 – 4:04pm – they called me
April 24, 2024 – 5:29pm – I called them
April 30, 2024 – 12:30pm – appointment
We discussed my getting my dentures being replaced. He NEVER took any impressions nor did he mention replacing the implants. Why would he? They're prefectly secure.

May 21, 2024 – 3:26pm – I called them
May 21, 2024 – 4:50pm – called - “APPROVED
I was told, “EVERYTHING IS APPROVED
To me “EVERYTHING” includes the dentures. AGAIN, he didn't mention the implants

May 21, 2024 – 4:58pm – I called them
June 19. 2024 – 1:18pm – called me
June 19, 2024 – 1:40pm – I called them

June 20, 2024 – Appointment
A friend took me to appointment to discuss starting the replacement of my dentures. THAT is when he talked about replacing the dentures AND the implants

There was/is NOTHING wrong with the implants. The dentures were destroyed by what looks like bleach, or that's what Dr. Boucher said.

That's when he said, “It'll cost about $1,000 to replace the implants”

He knows I'm low income and on SSI. I live off the $1001.00 I make a month. My paying him $1,000 to replace the implants would leave me $1 to live off of that month!?!?

Again, he does a bait-and-switch

And he didn't care how much it would cost me and what financial straits it would leave me in

He tells me one thing and then changes it so I would end up paying $$$$$

That's what Comfort Dental at 2540 Kipling St., Lakewood, CO 80215 did to me too

Do you do that to EVERY customer or just those on low income and disabled?

I feel like I'm being taken advantage of

Having or not having teeth can mess with someone's self-esteem and health then to have a “doctor” intentionallly do what Comforte Dental has makes it even worse. Does Comfort Dental do this to all their patients or just the low income disabled ones?

If it is, I believe you should be REMOVED from the UnitedHealthcare Network

Back when I lived in Minnesota I went to

Dr John Frerich
Marshall Dental Excellence
1106 E College Drive
Marshall, MN 56258

He did the surgery for my dentures and implants. It took a LONG time and was VERY expensive

I couldn't afford them then either, but I got some help to cover the finances

I also spoke out about my story of abuse and how I was getting help on a National Podcast. It was also aired on a YouTube Channel by Matthew Lesko

How To Use The Internet To Pay For Your Dental Bills
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TywMbV0Wg0I (NONE of the domain names mentioned on the video are legit anymore)

Not one time did Dr Frerich thank me for doing the free advertising on a National broadcast

He also implanted 5 implants, but charged me for 6. I stood up to him for that and then “Out of the kindness of my heart...” he FINALLY refunded me the money that was paid for them

Then he started offering Botox at his practice and he kept INSISTING I get it

Forget the fact I'm low income

Botox is a drug made from a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It's the same toxin that causes a life-threatening type of food poisoning called botulism. Doctors use it in small doses to treat health problems, including: Temporary smoothing of facial wrinkles and improving your appearance.”

Right, someone with ACUTE allergies (I carry an EpiPen 24/7) is going to inject THAT into MY body. I have over 250 food, medication and environmental allergies as a result of a chemical exposure in 1995

And YES, EVERY dentist I've dealt with has known about these allergies

He took advantage of a disabled, low income individual

He claims to be “Christian” but he definitely didn't fit the definition of a “Christian” to me

In hindsight I should've looked at ALL their Google Reviews. Thank God I do now. I also write reviews

Sincerely,
C

Leaving rotting teeth untreated can lead to serious health issues, including:

Infection
A tooth abscess can develop from advanced tooth decay, causing a severe infection that can spread throughout the body. In rare cases, a tooth abscess can be fatal.

Gum disease
Gum disease can develop from untreated tooth decay, and can lead to tooth loss. Gum disease can also increase blood sugar levels for people with diabetes.

Heart disease
Plaque builds up on teeth that aren't cleaned regularly, and can eventually move into the heart. Research suggests a connection between oral bacteria and heart disease.

Meningitis
Bacteria from an untreated tooth infection can reach the brain, causing meningitis, a dangerous brain and spinal cord infection.

Blood poisoning
The toxic elements from rotting teeth can be swallowed along with saliva, and eventually get blended into the digestive system and the blood.

Respiratory issues
Bacteria from infected teeth and gums can be inhaled, which can cause respiratory issues. This is especially concerning for people with pre-existing respiratory conditions.

Weight loss
Pain from tooth decay can make it difficult to eat or chew, which can lead to weight loss or nutrition problems.

Tooth loss
Tooth decay can lead to tooth loss, which can affect your appearance, confidence, and self-esteem.
Early dental decay can be treated, but prevention is best.

Sidenote:
COMFORT DENTAL DIDN'T CARE ABOUT MY MOM'S HEALTH AND NEITHER DID DR FRERICH!

Your dentist should be your partner in achieving optimal oral health, not a source of harm or exploitation. Unfortunately, some dental practices prioritize profits over patient care, leaving patients vulnerable to serious health risks. For individuals with complex medical needs, such as severe allergies or compromised immune systems, these risks can be life-threatening.

One alarming scenario involves a dentist leaving decaying teeth untreated, performing bait-and-switch pricing tactics, and suggesting inappropriate procedures like Botox to a highly allergic patient. Let’s unpack why these actions are dangerous and explore what steps a patient can take to protect themselves.

The Dangers of Untreated Dental Decay
Leaving rotting teeth in a patient’s mouth is a serious issue. Decay can lead to infections, abscesses, and systemic health problems, including sepsis, which can be fatal. Untreated dental infections can also exacerbate underlying conditions, such as autoimmune disorders, by triggering widespread inflammation.

For patients with acute allergies, untreated decay heightens the risk of severe infections that may require medications they cannot tolerate. Additionally, rotting teeth contribute to bad breath, difficulty eating, and overall poor quality of life.

Bait-and-Switch Pricing
Bait-and-switch pricing erodes trust between patients and providers. A dentist who quotes one price and charges a significantly higher amount later is engaging in unethical practices. For patients managing limited budgets or living with fixed incomes, unexpected costs can cause financial strain and deter them from seeking necessary follow-up care.

Offering Dangerous Procedures to High-Risk Patients
Recommending elective cosmetic procedures like Botox to a patient with acute allergies demonstrates a concerning lack of medical awareness. For individuals with over 250 allergies due to chemical exposure, Botox injections can trigger severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. Suggesting such procedures without conducting thorough medical reviews shows blatant disregard for patient safety.

How to Handle an Unethical Dentist
If you find yourself in this situation, taking action is crucial to safeguard your health and hold the provider accountable.

1. Seek a Second Opinion
Consult another dentist to assess the condition of your teeth and provide an unbiased treatment plan. Look for practices specializing in treating patients with complex medical needs or allergies.

2. Request a Detailed Breakdown of Costs
Before agreeing to any procedure, ask for a written treatment plan with an itemized cost breakdown. This minimizes the risk of surprise fees.

3. Report the Dentist
Unethical or dangerous practices should be reported to relevant authorities:
State Dental Board: File a complaint with your state’s dental licensing board. They can investigate professional misconduct and impose penalties.
American Dental Association (ADA): If the dentist is an ADA member, lodge a formal complaint.
Better Business Bureau (BBB): Report deceptive pricing practices to alert other potential patients.
Federal Trade Commission (FTC): If bait-and-switch pricing is involved, the FTC may investigate consumer fraud.

4. Document Everything
Keep records of all interactions, including emails, invoices, and treatment plans. These documents can be invaluable when filing complaints or pursuing legal action.

5. Consider Legal Action
If the dentist’s negligence or unethical behavior caused harm, consult an attorney to explore your legal options.

Your Health Comes First
Dental care is a vital component of overall health. If you encounter a dentist who jeopardizes your safety or exploits your trust, don’t hesitate to act. By advocating for yourself and utilizing available resources, you can protect your well-being and help ensure that others receive the quality care they deserve.

Maddow: Trump win 'gives us a really big to-do list' to defend democracy
Rachel Maddow speaks to Americans who do not want to surrender democracy to Donald Trump's authoritarian management and points out that since it did not work to defend democracy with the election, it is time to turn to a new set of tools and tasks to preserve the system of government used in the United State of America since its inception.

Maddow points out frightening truth about Trump's lack of concern about votes
Rachel Maddow rounds up instances in which Donald Trump not only assures his supporters that if he is elected they won't have to vote in the future, but also that even for this 2024 election he does not need votes. Maddow posits that the reason Trump doesn't care about votes is that he intends to win by manipulating the administration of the voting tabulation.
